Spotlight on Reuben Ferrante

Recently, one of our students at the Premier School of Football, thirteen year old Reuben Ferrante was chosen to form part of the Malta Youths National Team squad.

Reuben comes from Rabat and attends the St. Paul’s Missionary College where the subjects he likes best are Science and Physical Education. His greatest passion is football and his favourite local player is Michael Mifsud, now playing in Norway with Lillestrom FC. With regard to international football, he supports the Italian team Milan AC while his role model as a football player is Ronaldinho of Barcelona FC and Brasil. At the tender age of 6 years Reuben decided to take football more seriously and joined the Rabat Depiro Football Nursery so that he would be able to learn how to play his favourite sport in the correct manner and not just kicking the ball around with his friends.

Last year Reuben joined the Premier School of Football, a move which he says he definitely does not regret. He said that he really enjoys the training sessions and all the other activities organised by the school. Reuben feels that the Premier School of Football has helped him in acquiring good technical skills and actually motivated him in taking football more seriously. Above all he likes the method of teaching and the environment of the school.

Reuben’s dream is to become one of Malta’sbest players, have a regular place with a good foreign team and be part of the Malta’s senior national team. We at the Premier School of Football wish all the best of luck to Reuben so that one day his dream may come true. While congratulating him for his achievements so far, we encourage him to continue showing the seriousness with which he views the game of football and tell him that this is definitely another step forward in achieving his final goal.

Well done Reuben!

On 1st May 2006 a group of 24 boys, attending the Mosta Primary School attended for a trial session at the Premier School of Football. The boys accompanied by their parents spent about 2 hours at the Premier School of Football doing skills exercises and participating in fun games.

This was the first in a series of similar activities and served as a learning experience for both the school and the participants. The main aim of such an activity was to give a small taste of what one expects when joining the Premier School of Football.

By the end of the session both participants and their parents seemed to have been enjoying themselves and in fact many commented that it has been a wonderful experience and were looking forward for the start of the new term.

Other schools and/or football nurseries interested in similar activities can contact the Premier School of Football on 9947 0423 or 9945 9607.
