Positive Discipline Informative talk
On Monday, 13th November 2006, Premier School of
Football held the first informative talk for Season 2006/2007 for
boys who attend the school and their parents. The talk which was
well attended, treated the subject of ‘Positive Discipline’.
Mr Alex Delia delivered a talk and slide presentation
on the subject stressing the importance to lead and correct children
with an open hand rather than with a pointed finger. Discipline
was defined as the bridge between goals and accomplishment and the
different ways to discipline children were outlined and explained.
During this meeting Mr Delia announced that the
school has managed to attract the assistance of two main sponsors,
namely Attard Bros and Alberta.
At the end of this meeting, awards for the school’s
most improved players for the months of September and October were
given.

20th August 2006 - Premier School of Football end of season
Target Shoot-out and Presentation Night
To mark the end of its first football training
season, Premier School of Football organised a Target Shoot-Out
for all the boys attending the school. The youngsters competed within
their respective groups where each boy took twenty target shots.
The boy who managed to gather the highest number of points in his
group, won the competition and a trophy. The boys were also encouraged
to find sponsors and the one with the highest amount of money collected
was rewarded with a trophy with his name engraved on it, to keep
for a year.
On the following day the boys were invited to a
Barbeque and Presentation Night organised at Gnien Arjuza. The boys’
parents and relatives joined in to make this evening a very enjoyable
experience and a wonderful family gathering. The night commenced
with a thanksgiving mass celebration and later proceeded with a
feastful barbeque followed by the season’s awards presentation.
This included the most improved players’ awards for the months
of April, May and June. Moreover, each and every boy that attended
the school during the year was given a memento for his participation.
A special trophy was also awarded to the most dedicated and improved
player over the whole season. Target shoot-out awards were also
presented during the evening.

Premier School of Football teams up with 'Din L-Art Helwa'
Loyal to the objectives set out at its’ inception,
Premier School of Football teamed up with ‘Din L-Art Helwa’
organisation to set up another cultural activity for its students.
All the boys together with their coaches, were
taken to three interesting cultural sites namely Knisja ta’
Bir Miftuh, Torri Mamo and Gnien Il-Mistrieh. Mr John Sare, Din
L-Art Helwa representative, gave the boys a brief but detailed history
relative to these sites. The boys showed their interest by asking
Mr Sare several questions about each and every site.
These activities help the children to understand
better our history and culture thus enabling them to be confidently
socially conversant about several subject generating in them a better
self-esteem.

Sports Injuries in Youths – Prevention and Treatment -
Seminar
Premier School of Football has recently organised
another educational seminar for all the boys attending the school
and their parents. The meeting, which once again was very well attended,
treated the subject of “Sports Injuries in Youths –
Prevention and Treatment”. Dr David Attard, Malta Football
Association’s chief medical doctor and an expert in the field
was invited to deliver a presentation and answer questions about
the subject. The talk, which lasted for about an hour and proved
to be very interesting, delved on what to do to prevent injury and
how to deal with it when it happens. Dr Attard also explained the
differences that exist between various types of injuries, such as
common injuries (strains and sprains), overuse injuries, growth
plate injuries and injuries during growth.
At the end of Dr. Attard’s lecture, the school’s
organisers took the opportunity to present their main speaker with
a memento to thank him for his participation and for the sterling
work he carries out with great dedication.
The meeting ended with the school’s usual
presentation of the most improved players’ award for the months
of February and March.

6th February 2006 - “End of Term” parents’
meeting
On Monday 6th February, Premier School of Football
marked the termination of its first term by organizing an “End
of Term” parents’ meeting at the Qawra Palace Hotel.
During the meeting, the school’s training methods and evaluation
programmes for its students were revealed and explained in detail
to the parents present. The training programme for the forthcoming
term was also explained. The boys’ progress and training participation
was put into perspective by means of statistical data duly prepared
and presented during the meeting.
The meeting ended with the school’s usual presentation of
the most improved players’ award for the month of January.

Christmas Party 2005
A children’s Christmas Party was the latest activity organized.
The event took place at the Empire Cinema, where all the boys watched
a film and had a party after. For the occasion the school invited
national team player Andre Schembri to hand the most improved players
awards for the month of November. Andre’, who at his young
age, is considered one of Malta’s brightest prospects, also
delivered a small speech, where he told the boys to listen to their
coach and to believe that nothing is impossible and that dreams
can come true. The boys were all given a gift and several football
items among which featured also a national team shirt signed by
Andre’ himself.

11th December 2005 - Cultural Activity at the Malta Experience
On Sunday 11th December, the administrators organized also the first
cultural activity, a visit to the Mediterranean Conference Centre
to assist to “The Malta Experience” show. As stated
in its objectives, the school believes in giving also, as much as
possible, a cultural background to the boys. Better general knowledge;
especially about our country’s cultural history and the ability
to converse socially with confidence about several subjects, helps
to give our boys better self-esteem. Again, this second activity
was well attended and greatly appreciated by the boys and their
parents.

21st November 2005 - Sports Nutrition Talk by Mr. Geoffrey Axiak
The last two months of 2005 proved to be two eventful months for
Premier School of Football. Apart from the regular training sessions,
the school also organized three social activities for all the boys
and their parents. The first activity, organized on 21st November
2005, was the second of a series of educational seminars, and treated
the subject of Sports Nutrition. Mr Geoffrey Axiak, a qualified
nutritionist, was invited to deliver a presentation and answer questions
about the subject. The school also took the occasion to hand its
students the most improved player awards for the month of October.
Given the encouraging attendance and overall participation, the
event, which was organized at the Qawra Palace Hotel, turned out
to be a success.

17th October 2005 - Time Management Talk
On Monday, 17th October 2005, Premier School of Football held the
first of a series of informative talks for boys who attend the school
and their parents. The talk which was well attended, treated the
subject of ‘Time Management’.
Mr Alex Delia, Premier School of Football’s administrator,
explained the importance of time management in the running of everyday
life. If a good plan is organised for each day, children can manage
their time better, thus resulting in less pressure for everyone.
At the end of this meeting, an award for the school’s
most improved player for the month of September was given. This
award is being given in line with the school’s main objective
and philosophy; being that to inspire and instill confidence in
the youngsters attending the school and to praise them for their
efforts.
